I have often counseled my children with one of my favored axioms, “the best of intended deeds will not save a drowning man.” I’m better at advice than swallowing the pill myself.
My ambition to start a blog on this site has been neglected like a hunting dog in summer, ever wanting attention yet receiving little more than a pat on the head as the bass boat is loaded and launched. Now that we’re well into July, in Florida, the water is so hot the bass are deep and it’s stressful to drag them up from too deep, too often the time seems right to turn the heat up on this blog.
While I have long sensed the advantage of a blog to complement the many information and technical articles, a long list of what seemed more important kept pushing the task further back until I could no longer justify my negligence of what I feel is a persona obligation to my fellow outdoors-men and women.
The average person is so busy trying to make a living, take care of their family and find some personal time to enjoy the things they love, that keeping abreast of events that have a dramatic impact on our fishing and hunting all too often takes a back seat.
To help you sort through the in-basket of bull, I will be offering up a regular summary of critical issues and giving you a brief summary, with the option to look further into areas that you have a personal interest in. I will be commenting on a regular basis, about current events that affect outdoors enthusiasts, as well as observations from my own outdoor exploits. In addition, my main ambition is to provide a timely source of industry news as well as the latest products and innovations that are worthy of your consideration. I will also be keeping a close eye on the ever present struggle against the oppressive hand of government in our lives as well as current news on the antis and their latest deceptions and tactics.
Stop in on a regular basis, and comment on the things that matter to you in these pages. Oh, and thanks for stopping by.
